A Moment of Inspiration! Welcome Inspire 2 by DHChris

After a couple of weeks of work, we are finally ready to add another DJI drone to the supported fleet, this time it’s the very popular Inspire 2.

On this initial release step, the bulk of support is aimed at 01.02.0300. On all I2 firmware we can do all the basics such as flash firmware and expose the hidden system parameters, however on 1.02.0300 we have full support for removing NFZ's, firmware downgrades, accessing the ADB Rootshell (with a Professional License) and of course, the amazing Custom Flycontroller.

The removal of NFZ's and the intended target audience of this drone being professional users on filming locations is a killer deal. No longer will your shooting days be ruined by DJI's overreaching NFZ limitations resulting in your using inferior filming equipment or losing out on a job.

Future Additions

We wanted to get at least this first stage of support out to our customers as we know many of you own I2's, and many prospective owners couldn’t use Drone-Hacks due to us not supporting this model. In the future, we will be adding support for other firmware versions, this firmware version was chosen as its the most popular with 02.0400 being released only very recently.

On the subject of other mods, as for FCC/Boosted power modes, currently there is sadly no FCC/Boost mod, the reason for this is that the I2 uses Lightbridge, this is the older sibling of Ocusync which the modern drones use. Despite what you may see advertised elsewhere no one on the market can currently switch Lightbridge to FCC/Boosted power modes. Once again however, if we find a way, we will add it to the app.

All ready to go!?!

Head on over to Birdmap to confirm the supported features on your firmware, purchase a new license  (you'll need a Regular Professional) and get hacking!
